However i had excellent luck using honeywell s continuous rope sensor it detects water that touches any portion of the cable as an extension for the old dch s160 and honeywell s newer extension cable for their lyric detector uses a 3 5mm jack just like the new d link so i gambled and bought both.
After returning from 3 week vacation i found that multiple of my motion sensors and water leak sensors are offline and rules that depend on them are not working.
After removing the battery and putting it back on the same battery the sensor starts working again.
Covr your whole home in high power wi fi.

They randomly go offline and i have to pull the battery to get them to reconnect.
